The 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season became the crowning jewel of his career. He was sensational against Madhya Pradesh in the quarterfinal, with match figures of 12 for 110, which included a career-best 7 for 40. Nabi followed this up against Bengal in the semi-final when, despite the opponents posting 328 with Mohammed Shami returning to form for them in the first innings, Nabi took 5 for 87 and helped Jammu & Kashmir come back from 269 for 7 in their response. He was even better in the final, against Karnataka. His haul of 5 for 54 helped Jammu & Kashmir win their maiden Ranji Trophy title, ending their 67-year-long wait for a state title.

By the end of the season, Nabi had finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 60 wickets from 17 innings at an average of 12.65, taking his combined tally to 104 wickets across the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Ranji seasons. He was named player of the tournament for his efforts. His performances captured attention nationwide, prompting Sourav Ganguly to publicly urge selectors to consider Nabi for India’s Test squad.
